Beaches near Torremuelle

The Mediterranean from the terrace of Villa VR7

Playa de Torremuelle and Playa Bonita — walkable from the villa

The "quick dip" option: about an 8-minute walk from Villa VR7. These are calm, residential beaches, far less crowded than the ones by the tourist hubs. Perfect for a morning swim or the last hour of the afternoon, when the light over the bay is spectacular.

Playa de Carvajal — the house favourite

Just one train stop from Torremuelle (or a 20-minute walk along the coast), Carvajal is a clean, sandy beach with a genuinely local feel, much less busy than central Fuengirola. Its promenade is lined with traditional chiringuitos (beach bars) where you can try the espeto de sardinas — sardine skewers grilled over an open flame, the quintessential Andalusian experience. Order some fried fish and a paella facing the sea while you're at it.

Los Boliches — a wide beach with a promenade

Two train stops towards Fuengirola. A broad, comfortable beach with sun loungers, showers, restaurants and a long seafront promenade that's ideal for walking. The Los Boliches neighbourhood keeps an authentically Spanish feel, with its market and pavement terraces.

La Carihuela — the Torremolinos classic

In the other direction, between Benalmádena and Torremolinos, La Carihuela is one of the best-known beachfronts on the Costa del Sol: a former fishing quarter with historic beach bars and a promenade that connects to Puerto Marina. Get there on the M-120 coastal bus (the stop is right by the villa) or by train plus a stroll.
